There's always lots to see and do at Acorn Farm and sometimes we have extra activities and special events happening too!

Seasonal Events

Seasonal events at the farm include our Halloween themed activities and Christmas Grotto! whether you fancy having your face painted like a witch or meeting Father Christmas in festive farm surroundings, we have an event to suit you!

Activity Days

On select dates during the Easter and/or summer school holidays, we run our Be a Farmer for the Day event. These give children the opportunity to explore their interest in farm life and learn more farming through practical activities whilst making new friends and having fun!

Additional Activities

During the weekends and Knowsley school holidays, we have horse rides and small animal petting sessions available.

Be A Farmer For The Day 2017

Thursday 6th April 2017

9.30am - 3.00pm

Suitable for 8-12 year olds

Cost £15 per child

Would you like to come and help out with some of the jobs on the farm?

As part of our 'Farmer Day' you will be able to:

Find out about looking after rabbits and guinea pigs

Help to grade our eggs for sale in the shop

Help to clean an animal shed

Make goats milk ice cream

Plus other fun activities

Booking is essential as places are strictly limited and will only be confirmed upon receipt of a completed booking form and payment.

Santa's Grotto

Santa's Grotto

It's THAT time of year.  Yes, time to think about coming to our magical Christmas Grotto to meet Father Christmas and his Elves.  

The Grotto will be on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th December from 12.00-3.00pm.  Tickets are just £5 per child which includes admission to the farm and a lovely gift from Father Christmas.   Adults pay the normal farm admission of £2.50. 

Grotto tickets are available in advance  by calling in to the farm (sorry we are not able to take payment over the telephone), or you can pay on the day. 

Spooky Halloween

Spooky Halloween

Spooky Halloween is almost here.  Are you brave enough to visit our Haunted House?  Can you dress to impress the Halloween Fancy Dress Judges?  Dare you have a go at our Halloween themed games?  

Normal farm admission prices apply of £2.50 for adults and £1.50 for children (children under one year old go free) then it's just £1 for every four Halloween themed games.

Friday 28th October from 11am to 3pm Acorn Farm is the place to be for a spooky woodland trail, take a spooky selfie, or have an eerie face paining, take part in the fun and games and go on a spine chilling visit to the Haunted House ..... IF YOU DARE!!!!!

Come along to the farm on Friday 28th October from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm and join in with our Halloween fun.

There will be lots of Halloween themed games to try, spooky face painting will be available, and a visit to the Haunted House is a must ..... if you're brave enough!!!!!

There will be fancy dress competitions being judged throughout the day so dare to scare and dress to impress!!

We look forward to giving you a spooky welcome to Acorn Farm. 

Be A Farmer For The Day

Be A Farmer For The Day

If your children would like the experience of finding out about what it's like "behind the scenes" at Acorn Farm this coud be the ideal opportunity.  

Be a Farmer for The Day on Thursday 25th August 2016 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.  The cost is £15 and it's suitable for ages 8-12.  Children get the chance to help out with some on the jobs on the farm.  They find out about looking after our rabbits and guinea pigs, feed our chickens and ducks, help to collect and sort the eggs for sale in our farm shop and make goats milk ice cream.

Places are strictly limited and will only be confirmed upon receipt of a completed booking form (available from the shop) and payment.

We have a room available for birthday parties here at Acorn Farm!

Room hire costs just £40 for the day.

Admission prices apply as follows:

  • Children £1.50 (babies under 12 months free of charge)
  • Adults: One free adult with every paying child. Additional adults £2.50

Small Animal Petting

Small animal petting sessions are held every weekend, bank holiday and during Knowsley school holidays (except for Christmas school holidays).

Tickets cost £1 per person for a half hour session (under 12 months free of charge). Children under 8 years old must be accompanied by an adult with a ticket.

Activities are varied but can include holding a chick, stroking a rabbit or guinea pig and even milking a goat!

  • Opening times March to September: Sessions available every half hour between 11:30am-3:30pm (except 1:30pm)
  • Opening times October to February: Sessions available every half hour between 12pm-3pm (except 1:30pm)

Places are limited to 15 people per session.
